One of the most popular series of books that Ladybird ever produced was the series of traditional fairy tales called "Well Loved Tales" series 606d. The original books were all recounted by Vera Southgate and first published in the 1960s. This artwork comes from the revised version, first published in 1980, which stayed in print until very recently - so for around 25 years
